Based on years of experience developing and deploying Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) we created a methodology that has proven to be pragmatic, down to earth and pretty effective. Every project is different but in general we will advice you take most of the service modules listed below:

RIA Technical Scan

This is a short engagement designed to analyze relevant technical- requirements. A typical scan takes 5 to 10 days. One of our technical experts will analyze your existing application architecture and will make recommendations on how it can be used to create Rich Internet Applications. Part of the technical analysis might be the development of some small technical proof of concepts. The scan results in a brief technical design document addressing key aspects such as recommended implementation patterns, architectural impact and suggestions for project initiation. Optionally the scan can be complemented with early front-end designs (user experience design).

RIA Prototyping

Based on the outcome of the Technical Scan, customers can determine, to build an early Ajax front-end prototype. A typical prototype will take 10 to 40 days, depending on the project scope. This engagement typically includes early interaction design, creative design and front-end engineering of prototype. The prototype can be complemented with technical proof of concepts to investigate technical requirements that need to be proven before the actual project starts. Lessons learned from the prototype will be applied in the real implementation project.

RIA Implementation

In order to support you in implementing your Ajax projects, Backbase uses an agile project delivery methodology. Based on the results of the Technology Scan, we recommend our customers to use best practices such as early-mockups, iterative design, continuous integration build and testing, and code reviews.
